Regular Season Round 17: Cazorla - Novaschool 83-73

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Cazorla (5-8) won against at home 8th ranked Novaschool (3-10) 83-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cazorla. Novaschool was better in fourth quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cazorla dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Novaschool's 40. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cazorla made 8 blocks. Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-83) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. American point guard LeShaun Murphy (183, college: Auburn-Montgomery) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Fernando Ferruz answered with 18 points and 4 assists and center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Novaschool. Novaschool's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cazorla. They moved-up to fifth place in Group D-East, which they share with Velez. Loser Novaschool keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Cazorla will face CAM E.Soler (#7) in Melilla in the next round. Novaschool will play at home against the league's second-placed Coin and hope to win that game.
