Regular Season Round 17: El Olivar - Marin 73-90

LEB Silver top team - Marin (13-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat thirteenth ranked El Olivar (5-12) in Zaragoza 90-73. It looked good early as El Olivar took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Marin had a 22-19 second period charge getting the lead and El Olivar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-90. Marin players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward Javonte Green (193-93, college: Radford) stepped up and scored 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Norman Rey (203-87) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Marin players scored in double figures. Czech swingman Simon Pursl (200-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and guard Alvaro Sanz (178-98) scored 16 points and 4 assists. El Olivar's coach Carlos Iglesias rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Marin have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-4 record. El Olivar lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Marin will play against Meridiano Alicante (#5) at home in the next round. El Olivar will play against Zornotza (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
