Regular Season Round 36: Shimane SM - Hiroshima L. 128-43

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-27) was crushed on the road by third ranked Shimane Magic (23-9) 128-43 on Sunday. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hiroshima L. to just 6 points in second and fourth quarters. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 32. They outrebounded Hiroshima L. 49-15 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who scored 43 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 26 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Daichi Tomioka who recorded 17 points and Ayumu Osawa (-91) added 9 points respectively. Shimane Magic have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sendai 89ers and Okinawa GK. Hiroshima L. lost sixteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 27 games lost. Shimane Magic will face Takamatsu FA (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hiroshima L. will play against Shiga L-Stars and hope to win that game.
