Regular Season Round 17: Ardoi - TAKE Tolosa 70-74

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked TAKE Tolosa (6-7) beat second-ranked Ardoi (10-3) in Zizur Mayor 74-70 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-70. TAKE Tolosa made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Guard Lander Lasa (193-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Jon Azaldegi (190-91) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Alberto Davila (195-81) added 8 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Ardoi. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. TAKE Tolosa moved-up to seventh place in Group A-A, which they share with Valladolid Univ. Loser Ardoi keeps the second position with three games lost. TAKE Tolosa will face Clavijo (#9) in Logrono in the next round. Ardoi will play on the road against Valladolid Univ. (#7) and hope to win that game.
