Regular Season Round 36: Aomori Watts - Tokyo Cinq R. 97-79

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Aomori Watts (15-17) beat at home 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-29) 97-79 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aomori Watts. Tokyo Cinq R. was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aomori Watts forced 21 Tokyo Cinq R. turnovers. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who scored 27 points and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Aomori Watts' coach Koshirashi Munakata used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ryan Sypkens (193-91, college: Cal-Davis) who recorded 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) added 18 points and 16 rebounds respectively. Aomori Watts have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 15-17 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost twenty third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 29 games lost. Aomori Watts will face Shinshu BW (#10) in Nagano in the next round. Tokyo Cinq R. will play at home against the league's leader Sendai 89ers where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
