Regular Season Round 20: Vicenza - Orzinuovi GaGa 70-79

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Vicenza (11-9) lost at home to third ranked Orzinuovi GaGa (17-2) 79-70 on Sunday. Guard Antonio Ruggiero (190-81, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. The former international Rodolfo Valenti (198-80) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Fabio Stefanini (196-93) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds and forward Umberto Campiello (198-85) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Vicenza. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Orzinuovi GaGa moved-up to second place in B. Newly promoted Vicenza keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Orzinuovi GaGa will face Fiorentina (#13) in Firenze in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vicenza will play on the road against Pavia (#10) and hope to win that game.
