A very interesting game took place in Valladolid. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Moron (8-9) to ninth ranked Blancos de Rueda (8-9) 78-76 in the game for the seventh place. Moron was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 39-30 second half run of Blancos de Rueda. The best player for the winners was point guard Pablo Perez (181-97, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 13 points and 8 assists. Point guard Antonio Izquierdo (188-93) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Blancos de Rueda's coach Inaki Martin Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Alejandro Marin (190-88) produced 17 points and 7 assists and American forward Mike Phillips (201-91, college: Howard) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Blancos de Rueda moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Tarragona and Moron. Blancos de Rueda's next round opponent will be higher ranked Sammic ISB (#3) in Azpeitia and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
