The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Cairns Taipans' (12-15) road loss to fifth ranked New Zealand Breakers (14-12) 74-85 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 41-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. New Zealand swingman Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: Washington St., agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds.
