Regular Season Round 19: Sevilla - Fuenlabrada 85-78

An interesting game took place in Sevilla where higher ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (10-9) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Sevilla (6-13) 85-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. It looked good early as Baloncesto Fuenlabrada took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sevilla had a 22-10 second period charge getting the lead and Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-85. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, college: Weber St., agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Pierre Oriola (206-92) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Sevilla players scored in double figures. Serbian Ivan Paunic (198-87, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 22 points and Croatian center Josip Sobin (205-89) added 14 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sevilla moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Rio Natura Mnb. and CAI Zaragoza. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Sevilla's next round opponent will be league's second-placed FC Barcelona on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
