Regular Season Round 18: Polonia W-wa - LKS Lodz 61-71

There was no surprise in Warszawa where 12th ranked Polonia W-wa (3-15) was defeated by third ranked LKS Lodz (12-5) 71-61 on Sunday. LKS Lodz outrebounded Polonia W-wa 49-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Piotr Trepka (182-80) who scored 4 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Bartlomiej Bartoszewicz (199-92) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Daniel Nieporedzki (192-94) who recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Michal Grabowski (195-96) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LKS Lodz have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group B with 12-5 record having five points less than leader AZS AGH Alstom. Loser Polonia W-wa keeps the twelfth place with 15 games lost. LKS Lodz will face Start Lublin II (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Polonia W-wa will play against Tur Bielsk Pdl. in Bielsk Podlaski and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
