Very predictable result when second ranked Napoli Basket (16-4) won against at home 8th ranked Scauri (11-9) 99-84 on Sunday. Napoli Basket made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game, while Scauri only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Scauri 32-18 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Napoli Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 24 passes made by Scauri's players. Point guard Armando Iannone (187-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 4 assists. Swingman Christian Villani (200-82) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Napoli Basket players scored in double figures. Napoli Basket's coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Joshua Giammo' (190-93) replied with 18 points and 6 assists and the former international power forward Simone Bagnoli (205-81) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Scauri. Napoli Basket maintains second position in B with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Forli. Newly promoted Scauri dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Napoli Basket will face Isernia (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Scauri will play against Scafati Cesarano (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
