Second Stage Round 5: Sozh-GGU - Victoria 81-49

No shocking result in a game in Gomel where fifth ranked Sozh-GGU (11-9) smashed 7th ranked Victoria (6-15) 81-49. The game without a history. Sozh-GGU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria's 30. Sozh-GGU forced 26 Victoria turnovers. Guard Ekaterina Charikova (174-82) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 10 steals. Center Veronika Sovtsa (183-83) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Sozh-GGU players scored in double figures. Swingman Arina Masko (175-99) answered with 8 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Mariya Vasilevko (183-99) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks in the effort for Victoria. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sozh-GGU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 11-9 record. Victoria at the other side keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost.
