Second Stage Round 5: Fujitsu RW - Toyota A. 59-70

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Fujitsu RW (3-1) in Kawasaki on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Toyota A. (3-1) 70-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. It was a key game for the top position in Places 1-5. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Fujitsu RW managed to win fourth quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fujitsu RW 48-34 including a 27-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Mori Binge (180-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Mika Kurihara (178-89) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. International point guard Rui Machida (161-93) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Fujitsu RW. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota A. used an opportunity after Fujitsu RW lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Places 1-5 which they share with defeated Fujitsu RW.
