Regular Season Round 36: Takamatsu FA - Fukuoka Rizing 55-95

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-18) outleveled on the road 10th ranked Takamatsu FA (8-22) 95-55 on Sunday. The game without a history. Fukuoka Rizing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fukuoka Rizing outrebounded Takamatsu FA 46-32 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Fukuoka Rizing looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Takamatsu FA's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fukuoka Rizing made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Tomohiro Moriyama felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Nino Johnson (206-93, college: SE Missouri St.) who recorded 8 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and his fellow American import forward Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Fukuoka Rizing maintains eighth position with 14-18 record, which they share with Gunma. Takamatsu FA lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 22 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face league's leader Kyoto Hannar. at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's second-placed Shimane Magic (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
