Regular Season Round 27: Chemidor - Naft Abadan 84-60

An interesting game for Chemidor (18-6) which hosted in Tehran second-best Naft Abadan (18-7). Third ranked Chemidor had an easy win 84-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Naft Abadan. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Chemidor. Naft Abadan managed to win fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Naft Abadan 42-26 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for international Oshin Sahakian (200-86) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Dro Derghokasian (188-96) contributed with 17 points for the winners. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Bosnian point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, agency: Beo Basket) added 15 points in the effort for Naft Abadan. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chemidor have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Naft Abadan at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost.
