Regular Season Round 19: Maccabi Ashdod - ASA Jerusalem 83-62

Third ranked Maccabi Ashdod (14-5) crushed at home 6th ranked ASA Jerusalem (6-13) by 21 points 83-62, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. Maccabi Ashdod made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ashdod outrebounded ASA Jerusalem 48-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International forward Alysha Clark (178-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Theresa Plaisance (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Adan Inbar felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Brianna Kiesel (170-93, college: Pittsburgh) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bnot Hertzeliya. ASA Jerusalem lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with H.R. Le-Zion. Maccabi Ashdod will meet at home Ramat Hasharon (#4) in the next round. ASA Jerusalem will play against Elitzur Holon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
