Regular Season Round 49: Olimpico LB - San Lorenzo 62-76
Date: February 9, 2016
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Olimpico de La Banda (23-11) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by CASLA (22-16) 76-62. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by CASLA. Olimpico de La Banda managed to win third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and the former international Marcos Mata (201-86) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American power forward Justin Williams (206-84, college: Wyoming) responded with 7 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion, agency: DTMones) scored 20 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Olimpico de La Banda's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted CASLA maintains first place with 22-16 record which they share with defeated Olimpico de La Banda. Olimpico de La Banda at the other side still keeps top position with 11 games lost. CASLA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Olimpico de La Banda will play at home against the league's second-placed Obras Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
