Important game to mention about took place in La Plata. Sixth ranked Gimnasia LP (11-14) saved a 3-point victory at home edging leader Hispano Am. (15-10) 97-94 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Hispano Am. was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Eduardo Vassirani (200-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Power forward Lisandro Villa (198-87) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Sebastian Mignani (181-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 assists and forward Pablo Fernandez (198-82) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hispano Am.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Gimnasia LP maintains sixth place with 11-14 record. Hispano Am. at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. Gimnasia LP will play against higher ranked Olimpo (#3) in Bahia Blanca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hispano Am. will play on the road against Estudiantes O. in Olavarria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
