There was no surprise when 14th ranked Slask (4-17) lost to fifth ranked Energa Czarni (14-6) in Wroclaw 73-85 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Energa Czarni led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Energa Czarni outrebounded Slask 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. American swingman Demonte Harper (193-89, college: Morehead St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Jaroslaw Mokros (200-90) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. American power forward Jarvis Williams (203-93, college: Murray St.) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Ukrainian-American forward Denis Ikovlev (200-86, college: Nevada) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Slask. Energa Czarni maintains fifth position with 14-6 record. Slask lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth place with 17 games lost. Energa Czarni will face Trefl (#14) in Sopot in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slask will play on the road against MKS Start in Lublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
