Rather expected game in Akranes where 7th ranked Breidablik (8-7) was defeated by fifth ranked IA (9-5) 69-61. Breidablik was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 36-24 second half run of IA. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Breidablik to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. American point guard Sean Tate (173, college: Dalton St.) notched 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and center Jon Kristjansson (197-83) supported him with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by swingman Snorri Vignisson (193-97) did not help to save the game for Breidablik. American point guard Jamarco Warren (180-88, college: Charleston So.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. IA have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Breidablik at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. IA's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Fjolnir in Reykjavik and it may be the game of the week.
