An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ashdod. Third ranked Maccabi Ashdod faced 4th ranked Ramat Hasharon. Host Maccabi Ashdod (15-5) smashed guests from Hasharon (11-9) 81-59. Maccabi Ashdod looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Theresa Plaisance (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Guy Ben-Simon (-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Laurin Mincy (183, college: Maryland) added 18 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bnot Hertzeliya. Ramat Hasharon lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Maccabi Ashdod is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Ramat Hasharon will play against ASA Jerusalem (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
