Second Stage Round 4: COR-Borisfen - Grodno-93 94-96

Second-ranked COR-Borisfen (12-5) made lots of trouble for top-ranked Grodno-93 (17-0) in Mogilev on Friday. The visitors from Grodno managed to secure only two-point victory 96-94. However their fans expected easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But COR-Borisfen won third quarter 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grodno-93 shot 62.3 percent from the field. Grodno-93 outrebounded COR-Borisfen 32-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89, agency: Mike Diesel) fired 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international center Yuri Mishukov (205-85, agency: Mike Diesel) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Grodno-93's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. German point guard Vytautas Kamarunas (179-89) produced 28 points and 5 assists and forward Evgeni Sugonyako (199-92) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four COR-Borisfen players scored in double figures. Grodno-93 have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-0 record. COR-Borisfen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second place with five games lost. Grodno-93 are looking forward to face Tsmoki II (#4) in Minsk in the next round. COR-Borisfen will play at home against Impuls BGUIR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
