Regular Season Round 21: Penas Huesca - Palencia 89-63

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Palencia Baloncesto (18-3) on the court of third ranked Lobe Huesca on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Lobe Huesca 89-63. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Palencia Baloncesto. The game without a history. Lobe Huesca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lobe Huesca outrebounded Palencia Baloncesto 43-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Lluis Costa (187-93) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Naturalized American power forward Lamont Barnes (208-78, college: Temple) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Joan Tomas (202-92) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Palencia Baloncesto. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lobe Huesca have a solid series of three victories in a row. Lobe Huesca maintains third place with 13-8 record having five points less than leader Palencia, which they share with Oviedo. Palencia Baloncesto at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Lobe Huesca is looking forward to face league's second-placed Melilla Baloncesto on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Palencia Baloncesto will play against CB Prat and is hoping to win this game.
