Tigres (#4) were upset in Camaguey by eighth ranked Santiago 78-65. They made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Santiago forced 29 Tigres turnovers. Strangely Tigres outrebounded Santiago 41-19 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. International forward Esteban Martinez (192-87) nailed 24 points for the winning side and Eddy Hechevarria (193-86) accounted for 10 points and 6 steals. Forward Keiler Cala (195-94) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks and Yoanny Balde added 13 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Tigres in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santiago maintains eighth place with 3-11 record. Tigres at the other side keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Santiago will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tigres will play again at home against Santiago (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track.
