Another exciting game was played in Dublin between eighth ranked DCU Saints and 5th ranked Swords Thunder where host DCU Saints (5-10) won against Swords Thunder (8-7) 85-74. They outrebounded Swords Thunder 49-28 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Duane Johnson (201-91, college: E.Stroudsburg) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 20 rebounds. International center Martins Provizors (202-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Five DCU Saints players scored in double figures. Swingman Kevin Lacey (192-89) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks and the former international point guard Isaac Westbrooks (189-85) added 12 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Swords Thunder. DCU Saints moved-up to seventh place, which they share with UL Eagles. Swords Thunder at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with UCD Marian. DCU Saints will play against Moycullen (#9) in Galway in the next round. Swords Thunder will play at home against Killester (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
