Templeogue did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 81-63. Templeogue dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Belfast Star's 30. They outrebounded Belfast Star 56-30 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Michael Bonaparte (196-82, college: Coll.of the Ozarks) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: Augusta) accounted for 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. Four Templeogue players scored in double figures. American guard Shawn Vanzant (185-88, college: Butler) came up with 24 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Matthew Jackson (191-90, college: Humboldt St.) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Belfast Star in the defeat. Templeogue keeps a position of league leader, which they share with UCC Demons. Belfast Star lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Templeogue's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin Eanna.
