Regular Season Round 19: Milano - Scrivia 64-60

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Milano (12-7) won against at home 12th ranked Scrivia (5-14) 64-60 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Scrivia trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 18-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 60-64 at the end of the game. Milano dominated on the defensive end, holding Scrivia to just 7 points in first quarter. It was a very good performance for forward Giulia Maffenini (175-92, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Federica Pozzecco (172-93) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Point guard Giulia Porro (169-95, agency: SPORTlab Agency) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and center Clara Salvini (180-92) added 14 points in the effort for Scrivia. Scrivia's coach Franco Balduzzi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Milano moved-up to fourth place in A2. Newly promoted Scrivia keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Milano will face Alpo VR (#6) in Verona in the next round. Scrivia will play at home against Marghera (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
