Regular Season Round 17: Skrljevo - Alkar Sinj 93-81

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Alkar Sinj (6-9) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked KK Skrljevo (6-10) 93-81. The game was mostly controlled by KK Skrljevo. Alkar Sinj was better in second period 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KK Skrljevo dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Alkar Sinj's 32. They outrebounded Alkar Sinj 42-24 including 17 on the offensive glass. Point guard Roko Rogic (185-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Davor Kus (192-78, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 27 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four KK Skrljevo players scored in double figures. Power forward Stjepan Tesija (206-89, agency: PEPI SPORT) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Nikola Gaurina (198-83, agency: Interperformances) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Alkar Sinj. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. KK Skrljevo moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Jolly JBS. Alkar Sinj lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. KK Skrljevo's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kvarner in Rijeka and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
