Regular Season Round 18: Miramar - Santfeliuenc 95-86

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Miramar (8-10) won against at home 4th ranked Santfeliuenc (10-8) 95-86 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-86. Miramar made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game, while Santfeliuenc only scored eight points from the stripe. Miramar forced 23 Santfeliuenc turnovers. Santfeliuenc was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Carlos Poyatos (207-94) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Lluis Molina (190-85) replied with 20 points and guard Xavier Guirao (190-87) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Santfeliuenc. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Miramar moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with Castelldefels. Loser Santfeliuenc dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
