Regular Season Round 17: Olimpi - Batumi 101-97

There was a change at the Superleague leadership position after last games. Round 17 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Batumi (11-6). They were defeated by sixth ranked Olimpi (8-9) 101-97 on Saturday night. Olimpi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international guard Lasha Parghalava (191-87, college: Mont.St.-Billings) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists. Ukrainian forward Igor Krivtsov (201-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) and Ukrainian forward Leonid Stefanishin (199-85) scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Olimpi maintains sixth place with 8-9 record. Batumi at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Dinamo Tbilisi who have the same record. Batumi will play next round against Energy Invest trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Olimpi will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Mgzavrebi. It will be extra interesting game as Mgzavrebi is their local rival from Tbilisi.
