Regular Season Round 20: ViVe - Espoo Team 103-52

There was no surprise in Vimpeli where 7th ranked Espoo Team (5-14) was outplayed by second ranked ViVe (14-5) 103-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. ViVe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Espoo Team to just 7 points in second quarter. ViVe held Espoo Team to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.9 percent accuracy of the winners. ViVe forced 21 Espoo Team turnovers and outrebounded Espoo Team 51-30 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import center Elem Ibiam (193-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) who added 19 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five ViVe players scored in double figures. ViVe's coach Jarkko Havu felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Lotta Erakangas (186-97) responded with 13 points and forward Jenni Jarvi (185-92) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. ViVe maintains second position with 14-5 record having eight points less than leader Catz. Espoo Team lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted Espoo Team dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. ViVe will face league's leader Catz Lappeenranta at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
