Regular Season Round 17: Hoybraten - Ullern 50-87

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Oslo: Ullern (#1) and Hoybraten (#6). Hoybraten was crushed at home by 37 points 50-87 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Ullern led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hoybraten to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Ullern dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Hoybraten's 32. Ullern forced 25 Hoybraten turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Forward Mia Henriksen (180-84) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Tina Moen (180-86, college: IPFW) chipped in 22 points. Four Ullern players scored in double figures. Forward Sigrid Davidsen (185-95) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Flaka Kelmendi (165-98) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ullern have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Hoybraten lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Ullern will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hoybraten will play on the road against the league's second-placed Asker (#2) in Rykkinn and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
