Regular Season Round 19: Pordenone - Crema 71-77 OT

Seventh-ranked Pordenone (9-10) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Team Crema (16-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Crema managed to secure only six-point victory 77-71. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime then Pordenone managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Team Crema who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-6. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Paola Caccialanza (175-89) contributed with 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Rachele Porcu (165-97) answered with 16 points and 8 assists and center Lorela Cubaj (191-99) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pordenone. Pordenone's coach Andrea Da Prato rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Team Crema maintains second place in A2 with 16-3 record having five points less than leader Broni. Newly promoted Pordenone keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Team Crema will face San Salvatore (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pordenone will play against Vicenza and hope to win that game.
