Regular Season Round 18: Salt - Sant Nicolau 77-71

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Salt (11-6) defeated at home 9th ranked Sant Nicolau (6-12) 77-71 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 26-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Salt forced 20 Sant Nicolau turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Xavier Torrent (176-90) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 assists. Toni Espinosa (195-96) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Guard Guim Exposito (197-94) replied with 27 points and 6 steals (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and center Larry Ewulu (197-92) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sant Nicolau. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Salt have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group C-A with 11-6 record having eight points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Loser Sant Nicolau keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
