Regular Season Round 27: Nidaros Jets - Baerum Basket 65-85

9th ranked Nidaros Jets (5-13) were outscored at home by seventh ranked Baerum Basket (9-9) with the biggest margin this round 85-65. The game was mostly controlled by Baerum Basket. Nidaros Jets was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Nidaros Jets 50-38 including 16 on the offensive glass. Baerum Basket brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 25 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks. Point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) contributed with 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists for the winners. American swingman Decorey Jones (201-90, college: Faulkner) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Kenyan Earl Simba (204-92) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Nidaros Jets. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Baerum Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Asker Aliens and Gimle BBK. Nidaros Jets lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Baerum Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Centrum in Oslo and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
