There was a small surprise in Madrid where fourteenth ranked Barcelona (2-15) edged 11th ranked Olimpico 64 (5-13) 67-66 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 22-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Barcelona outrebounded Olimpico 64 36-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. Olimpico 64 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Maria Moreno (181-84) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Laura Lopez (171-85) chipped in 13 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Esther Molinero (165-93) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and forward Irene San Roman (177-92) scored 13 points. Olimpico 64's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Barcelona maintains fourteenth position in Group B with 2-15 record. Olimpico 64 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Barcelona will face league's second-placed Rivas Promete at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
