Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Sagesse (#7) and Hoops Club (#2). Sagesse (4-5) won against visiting Hoops Club (6-3) 87-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Hoops Club. Sagesse made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) notched 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Bosnian-Serbian center Ratko Varda (212-79, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sagesse players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds by the former international swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) did not help to save the game for Hoops Club. Point guard Ali Mezher (182-94) added 17 points and 6 assists for lost side. Sagesse moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tadamon and Moutahed. Hoops Club at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Sagesse will play against Tadamon (#5) in the next round. Hoops Club will have a break next round.
