There was a small surprise in Kaerjeng where Contern (5-15) smashed Bascharage (16-4) 94-66 on Saturday. Contern made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kenny Williams (201-86, college: Angelo St.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Ravern Johnson (200-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: HMS) chipped in 27 points and 4 assists. Four Contern players scored in double figures. American point guard Marcus Neal (196-86, college: Delaware St.) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and Belgian power forward Dimitri Jorssen (212-79, college: Utah St.) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Contern will face Residence in Bereldange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bascharage will play on the road against Grengewald in Niederanven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
