Regular Season Round 21: Al Wakrah - Al Arabi 91-81

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Al Arabi (4-14) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Al Wakrah (8-10) 91-81. The game was mostly controlled by Al Wakrah. Al Arabi was better in third quarter 34-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Wakrah players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for the former international point guard Boney Watson (183-78, college: Sam Houston St.) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 8 assists. American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman, agency: Court Side) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Watson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. American point guard Temi Soyebo (183-84, college: NC-Wilmington) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals and the other American import center Todd O'Brien (211-89, college: UAB) added 29 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for Al Arabi. Al Wakrah maintains fifth place with 8-10 record, which they share with Al Shamal. Al Arabi at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost.
