Regular Season Round 18: Martorell - Andorra II 73-61

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Andorra II (7-11) lost on the road to tenth ranked Martorell (6-12) 73-61 on Saturday. Andorra II was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 24-9 charge of Martorell, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 Andorra II turnovers. Strangely Andorra II outrebounded Martorell 40-28 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Jordi Clotet (181-96) who led his team to a victory with 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American guard D'Von Campbell (185-92, college: Campbellsville) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Center Cinto Gabriel (199-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Senegalese center Wally Niang (206-96) added 17 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Andorra II. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Martorell moved-up to eighth place in Group C-B, which they share with Pardinyes-L. Loser Andorra II keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
