Regular Season Round 17: Souffel - Denain 57-73

Date: February 13, 2016
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Denain Voltaire and 9th ranked Souffelweyersheim had identical 8-8 record. But Souffelweyersheim was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Denain 73-57 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was swingman Vafessa Fofana (198-92) who scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds. Four Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Jarryd Cole (205-88, college: Iowa) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Denain Voltaire. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Souffelweyersheim dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Denain Voltaire will face higher ranked JL Bourg (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Souffelweyersheim will play against ALM Evreux (#3) and hope to win that game.
