Regular Season Round 37: Fukuoka Rizing - Kyoto Hannar. 58-71

BJ League top team - Kyoto Hannar. (24-7) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-19) 71-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fukuoka Rizing. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Fukuoka Rizing managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) added 14 points and 4 steals in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyoto Hannar. maintains first place with 24-7 record. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side keeps the eighth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Shinshu BW and Gunma. Kyoto Hannar. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against the league's leader Kyoto Hannar. (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
