Regular Season Round 19: Carugate - Broni 60-71

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Carugate (7-12) lost to leader Broni (20-0) in Corugate 60-71 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-60. It was a very good performance for Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Arianna Zampieri (183-88) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Broni players scored in double figures. The former international forward Manuela Zanon (187-80) answered with 9 points and 11 rebounds and Arianna Beretta (178-96) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Carugate. Broni maintains first place in A2 with 20-0 record. Carugate at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Broni will face Virtus Cagliari (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Carugate will play against Bolzano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
