Regular Season Round 25: Ragusa - Torino 76-52

Date: February 13, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Torino (8-15) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Ragusa (19-3) 76-52 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 24 points. Ragusa outrebounded Torino 51-28 including a 20-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Rebekkah Brunson (191-81, college: Georgetown, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. International guard Maddalena Gorini (182-92) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. Coach Antonino Molino's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Yvonne Anderson (170-90, college: Texas) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Ragusa maintains second place with 19-3 record having just nine point less than leader Lucca, which they share with Familia Schio. Torino lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Ragusa will meet Umbertide (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Torino will play against Battipaglia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
