Peli-Karhut (5-13) outlasted Aanekosken (6-12) in overtime by two points 96-94 on Saturday night. The hosts were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 10-8. Peli-Karhut made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Aanekosken turnovers. Strangely Aanekosken outrebounded Peli-Karhut 50-38 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Aanekosken's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Tear'A Laudermill (175-92, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Deonica McCormick (173, college: Mobile, AL) who added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 29 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and international forward Camilla Gronberg (179-94) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Peli-Karhut have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Aanekosken at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Peli-Karhut will face higher ranked HyPo (#3) in Hyvinkaa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
