Regular Season Round 18: El Olivar - Zornotza 61-67

Rather predictable result in Zaragoza where eleventh ranked Zornotza (7-11) defeated 13th ranked El Olivar (5-13) 67-61 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But El Olivar won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded El Olivar 42-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. El Olivar was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. German center Enosch Wolf (216-90, college: Connecticut) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Arturo Cruz (180-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Sergi Garcia (191-97) with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Marc Marti (204-97) scored 12 points. Zornotza moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Clinicas Rincon and Cambados. El Olivar lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Zornotza will face higher ranked Moron (#8) in Morón de la Frontera in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. El Olivar will play on the road against Meridiano Alicante (#6) and hope to win that game.
