Regular Season Round 16: Avenir - SIG 56-55

The most exciting game of round 16 in the LF2 took place in Chartres. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers SIG (9-6) to eighth ranked Avenir (8-8) 56-55 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovakian forward Simona Podesvova (186-83) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 15 rebounds and American Mariesa Greene (183-87, college: Barry) who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Louise Dambach (175-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and forward Darline NSoki (182-89) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Avenir have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Reims. SIG at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Avenir is looking forward to face higher ranked Roche (#3) in La Roche in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SIG will play on the road against the league's leader Tarbes and is hoping to win this game.
