The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Huracan's (11-14) home victory over 6th ranked Gimnasia LP (12-15) 64-60 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gimnasia LP won fourth quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Martin Melo (197-82) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Valentin Burgos (185-92) chipped in 15 points. At the losing side power forward Lisandro Villa (198-87) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Maximiliano Segon (200-91) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Gimnasia LP's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Huracan moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Gimnasia LP keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Huracan will face league's second-placed Alianza Viedma in Rio Negro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gimnasia LP will play on the road against Petr.Argentino (#7) in Plaza Huincul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
