Second Stage Round 6: Hogsbo - KFUM Uppsala 79-45

Very important is a road loss of second ranked KFUM Uppsala (6-3) against fourth ranked Hogsbo (5-3) on Sunday night. Visiting KFUM Uppsala was crushed by Hogsbo in Goteborg 79-45. The game was mostly controlled by Hogsbo. KFUM Uppsala managed to win third quarter 15-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hogsbo dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Uppsala's 26. Hogsbo forced 26 KFUM Uppsala turnovers and outrebounded them 45-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American forward R.J. Slawson (206-92, college: Jacksonville) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Martin Engstrom (202-89) chipped in 6 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Hogsbo's coach Jonas Fredrikson felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Anes Zekovic (195-95) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Oliver Ehrnvall (197-96) scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. Newly promoted Hogsbo maintains fourth position in Superettan with 5-3 record. Loser KFUM Uppsala dropped to the third place with three games lost. Hogsbo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KFUM Uppsala will play against KFUM Central and hope to secure a win.
