Regular Season Round 15: Aris Petropolis - Terpsithea 62-76

Bottom-ranked Aris Petropolis (0-15) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 15th consecutive match to seventh ranked Terpsithea (7-8) 76-62. Terpsithea dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Aris Petropolis' 28. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Amelia Simmons (181-87, college: Wilmington, DE) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Her fellow American import center Akila McDonald (193-91, college: S.Florida) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Terpsithea players scored in double figures. Nikolina Ioannidou (175-94) came up with 11 points and center Christina Petyhaki (186-97) added 12 points respectively for Aris Petropolis in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Terpsithea moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Athinaikos and Niki Lefkadas. Aris Petropolis lost their fifteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Terpsithea will play against league's second-placed Panathinaikos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aris Petropolis will play on the road against Niki Lefkadas (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
